National Aptitude Test in Architecture

National Aptitude Test in Architecture or NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion,aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability required for architecture.

NATA score is required for admissions to 1st year B.Arch. at all institutes / schools / colleges of Architecture in India (including Govt., Govt-aided, Private Unaided, University Depts., Deemed Universities, etc.), offering courses, and leading to Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

The test is conducted throughout the year at designated test centres located at various parts of the country.

Eligibility

No candidate, with less than 50% marks in aggregate, shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/ she has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as subjects of examination at the 10+2 level. 

or

10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/ State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.

or

International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

All Admissions to Architecture degree course shall be subject to passing of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

    There is no negative marking. Students are supposed to attempt 200 objective questions with 4 alternative

    I am currenting pursuing year 12 and would be taking my board exam in 2012. I am preparing for AIEEE and wants to know if NATA is a mandatory requirnment for India colleges / Universities for BArch. How is NATA different from AIEEE.
