Best Engineering Colleges in India


India is home to some of best engineering institutes that offer both under graduate and post graduate courses. In addition to the  metropolitan cities, the top engineering colleges in India are also located in other cities like Kanpur, Roorkee, Guwahati, Pune, Kharagpur and Allahabad among several others.

Most of the top engineering colleges in India have a identical system of selection procedure.For instance admission to the undergraduate programs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for Indian and Foreign nationals is on the basis of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) score. Other engineering colleges in India have their own admission procedure. The IITs are the top engineering colleges in India that play an important role in the development of technical manpower.These institutes have research programs that are equivalent to the  best in the world. 

Other common entrance tests for admissions to the top engineering colleges in India include JMET, and GATE. The eligibility criterion for applying to the various engineering institutes in the country is that candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in science stream. The cutoff percentage for being eligible for admissions may depend on the college/institutes.
