Application for Mass Communication Bachelor Course

A student wanting to appear in an entrance exam for enrolling in Bachelors in Mass Communication has to fill up an application form. The form is usually attached with the Information brochure of the college. The form cost ranges between Rs 75 and Rs 500 and are available at different counters of the colleges in which want to seek admission. A student has to shell out some amount as the registration fee also.

For Bachelors degree in Journalism offered by Delhi University, prospectus sale starts in the end of the month June. But while filling the application form, a student has to keep certain things important things in mind.

  • Firstly, a student must make sure that the name filled in the application form should tally with the name written on his Birth Certificate.
  • Secondly, for each course, different codes are mentioned in the form. A student should carefully write the correct code against the course and see that there are no mismatches.
  • Thirdly, a student has to mention all subjects studied in 10+2 even if the student is appearing in the entrance test.
  • Lastly, for different courses, a student has to fill up separate forms.

Seat Reservation

Most of the government institutes or Universities that offer a degree in Mass Communication course keep certain seats reserved and do not offer to the general category students. The seats reserved are for physically challenged students and those students who come under SC/ST category. Some seats are also reserved for students who are good in sports-under the Sports quota. Provision is also made for children of ex-servicemen, who were killed or got disabled in a war.

In general the reservation criteria for different reserved categories candidates are as follows –

SC/ST Category22 percent
– 15 % for SC
– 7% for ST
Children of armed forces/paramilitary personnel
killed in action
5 percent
Outstanding sports candidates5 percent

As far as physically challenged students are concerned, seats are not reserved for them in the courses which have entrance test like Journalism. The students are only given 10 percent concession in the marks they attain in the entrance test and then selected out of the total candidates.
