Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), a college of design, management and technology has been established in collaboration with National Institute of Fashion technology (NIFT), New Delhi. The institute was established by the Department of Industries and commerce, Govt. of Punjab in 1995. The institute offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate diploma programs in fashion, design and technology. Admission to any of the programs is made on the basis of entrance test conducted by NIIFT usually in the month of June. Classes commence from August. NIIFT offers a very excellent campus placement to its students. The placement cell of NIIFT encourages students as well as companies to participate in campus interviews. NIIFT pass-outs are found to have absorbed in some of the country’s prestigious companies like DCM, Benetton India Ltd., Park Avenue by RaymondsLtd., (J.K.
