Test Pattern: The test pattern of IIMC entrance examination is some how similar to CAT. There will be 10 abbreviations, some two marks questions on simple definition, current event things etc. There are long 10 marks questions – both knowledge-based like Indo Russian relations and general ones like your favorite radio and TV program or your favorite ad. Basically the paper checks your language skills, reading comprehension passages etc. Note: However, the test pattern can vary and it depends on the institute which sets the question papers. Medium of instruction: The medium of instruction for the entrance examination will be according to the course; e.g. PG Diploma in Journalism (Oriya) will be in Oriya and for PG Diploma in Journalism (English) will be in English and PG Diploma in Journalism (Hindi) will be in Hindi. Selection All the candidates who appear in the written examination will be ranked on the basis of the marks obtained by them. A shortlist will be prepared for each of the courses. The short-listed candidates will be called for a Group Discussion/Interview in first week of July in New Delhi at their own expense. Candidates of Journalism (English) course can also be called for GD/Interview at Kolkata. The list of candidates to be admitted to the courses will be prepared on the basis of the combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and in the GD/Interview. The weightage for written examination and GD/Interview will be 85:15. The institute will communicate individually to the selected candidates for interview/admission. However, the institute will not be responsible for postal delay and loss in transit. Any dispute in regard to any matter shall be subject to jurisdiction of Delhi Court only. DOU=13122007
