Ventura 2010 - The International Business Plan Competition of NIT Trichy

The Entrepreneurship Cell of NIT, Trichy brings to you Ventura ‘10, the country’s largest international business plan contest. The sole aim of Ventura is to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship among students worldwide, to identify the bright sparks, and reward them for their prowess and business sense.

From over 120 institutions across 15 nations, 244 student teams sent us their executive summaries, aiming to win the cash prize amount upto INR 3 lakhs, and INR 40 lakhs in incubation funding. Fierce scrutiny brought the contending teams to thirty, who were then provided intense mentoring by the Mentor Network, a group of top CEOs, leading entrepreneurs and venture promoters from around the world. After the mentoring period of 45 days of counseling and guidance, the final business plans were submitted for further assessment, which led to selection of the 8 finalist teams. The final teams then presented their business plans before the jury panel, who awarded points in various categories, such as innovation, both technical and market, financial stability of the plan and competence of the team, and finalized the winners.

Ventura '09 was arguably one of the largest student led business plans competition in India in terms of reach, participation, number and quality of mentors, awards and the number of companies incubated. History will be created this November when the winning team of Ventura 09, 'CardioCure',  from GeorgiaTech, USA will set up at the ICICI Knowledge Park, Hyderabad as the largest soft landing venture in India ever.

Ventura ’09 in short was an eye opening and an awe inspiring experience to all the teams which participated and got national as well as international praise and recognition.

·  Cash prize of 4 lakhs INR for the winners

·  Incubation support of upto INR 1 Crore for each of the finalists provided by Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and TREC-STEP(Tiruchirappalli Regional Engineering College-Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Park) which is the first campus incubator set up in the country. Ventura 10 is also associated with premier incubators in India and abroad, to provide the teams with the most comprehensive start up support possible. Apart from TREC-STEP, our major incubation partner, NSRCEL (IIM-B) and VILLGRO Resources, Chennai are our other incubation partners.
