Dear NNE-Counsellor,

Many many thanks for your valuable advices. I must try to follow them.

If, I desire my son to be either a doctor or an engineer or a scientist/professor either in medical or engineering discipline, which of the two boards - ICSE or CBSE - should we choose from the very beginning irrespective of the school ? Can you show me the right direction regarding this matter applying your prudence and experience? Then I shall be greatful to you.

Thanking in anticipation,

Yours sincerely,

Nilotpal Dutta

Dear Mr. Dutta
You can choose for any board, its the child who finally makes the difference. The certificate of both the boards are acceptable world over. As you have discussed earlier, consider on the facts like accessibility of school in your area, the teacher taught ratio and the success rate of that partcular school in which you are going to admit your child. Gain the parents and alumni experiences about the school, access the present scenerio of the school if your child can evolve with the schooling system and with his peer groups.  Also gain opinion of external people and other schools about that particular school in which you are interested in.

A child's diligency and intelligency both are important in what he /she will do in life. And child learns to be deligent from surrounding in which schooling plays a key role which begins right from home.

Choose ICSE / CBSE as you wish and as the circumstances allows but make it sure that your child will complete his entire school education from the same board. Definitely, sometimes, one can not stick to the decision because of one reason or the other.

So try to choose a board which you think you may keep continue till he completes his school education.

Thanks
NNE Counsellor
