You need to know the timelines of the university or college that you are applying to. Admissions deadline for most universities is somewhere between October and January. So the ideal time to appear for GRE would be somewhere between the months of May and September.

Each section in GRE is considered tough depending on the background of the person taking the test. A Maths student will consider the Mathematics section comparatively easy than the others while verbal and written section might turn out to be tough for them.
