IIM Calcutta - Campus & Infrastructure
The 135-acre campus of the Institute has a cluster of Administrative and Faculty Office Blocks, fully equipped classrooms, seminar and conference rooms, Management Center for Human Values, residential quarters for students, faculty and staff members, library, an executive training complex, a bank and a post office. The 750-seat state-of-the-art Auditorium is the latest addition to the campus.
The presence of the lush trees and seven lakes make the campus picturesque and well endowed.
The B.C.Roy Memorial Library of the Institute, which started with a liberal Ford Foundation grant, has grown over the years, keeping pace with the development of the Institute, developments in the area of the library and the services and the changing information needs of the users. The library is considered as one of the major management libraries in South Asia. Housing over 1,50,000 volumes,this imposing repository of knowledge is housed in a spacious building between the Students' Hostels and the Academic Block, overlooking the blue lakes at its eastern and northern sides.
IIMC is an acknowledged leader in computing resource and applications. The Institute's computer Center has emerged as a center of excellence in the area of Computer Applications in Management.
The campus has four hostels that provide single room accommodation to students with modern amenities and recreation facilities. All the hostels have their own coffee shops,canteens, photocopy units and printer rooms. Every room has its own network connection, which enables fast and round-the-clock Internet access.
The institute has excellent sports facilities, which include volleyball court, basketball court, a football ground, Lawn tennis court, TT rooms and Badminton courts.All of these are fully illuminated and the action often happens round the clock.
