IIT Gandhinagar

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is the new IIT in the family of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The new institute shall be located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat in India. IIT Bombay has been given the responsibility by the government to mentor IIT Gandhinagar.Till completion of the new building, the classes of IIT Gandhinagar shall be held in the campus of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, Gandhinagar.The classes for 4 year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program in Chemical engineering, Electrical engineering and Mechanical engineering commenced from July / August 2008 at VGEC, Chandkheda. Admission into 1st semester B.Tech. Programs offered on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)
The curriculum offered is similar to that offered in mentor institute IIT Bombay with little differences.
