There are three main schools in IIT Indore:

School of Basic Sciences which has the following disciplines

• School of Engineering which has the following disciplines

1. Computer Science and Engineering
2. Electrical Engineering
3. Mechanical Engineering
4. Civil Engineering
5. Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science

• Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences which includes

1. English Language and Literature
2. Economics
3. Philosophy
4. Psychology
5. Sociology

IIT Indore also has interdisciplinary research areas in:

1. Bio-Sciences and Bio-Medical Engineering
2. Material Science and Engineering
3. Astrophysics

Admission to IIT Indore is conducted through JEE. A ‘Cell for IIT Indore’ is set up in IIT Bombay, consisting of a Convener and several  senior Faculty of IIT Bombay as Members. Professor A.N. Chandorkar, Professor of Electrical Engineering is presently the Convener of this Cell.
