Who is guiding the new institute?

Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthi, the Director of IIT Madras, is acting as the mentor for this newbie IIT. IIT Madras in collaboration with the state government and the Ministry of Human Resource and Development have identified the ideal land for the establishment and functioning of the temporary campus. Their focus was also on the inclusion of all vital infrastructures, expert faculty members and competent administrative staff who could handle the functioning of the institute and the hostel.

The previous experience of mentoring IIT Hyderabad, has readied IIT Madras to lead IIT Tirupati to a successful journey. The new institute is currently offering 4 core branches of study and 120 students, so that each of them can benefit from the adequate attention of the faculty.

The faculty boasts of some professors who are presently engaged with IIT Madras and some others who have recently retired. A couple of them have the experience of being deans and Heads of Departments too, with demonstrated knowledge and expertise both in India and abroad.
