JEE 2013 Advance Paper
The Human Resource Development Ministry's plan to conduct a nation-wide, common engineering entrance examination from 2013 will soon be implemented. The single entrance was decided to be called the " Indian Science-Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET) 2013." However, ISEET has been renamed back to "JEE - Joint Entrance Examination".
The JEE 2013 will replace the engineering entrance exams such as AIEEE and IIT-JEE from 2013 onwards. It is said that the test JEE will be conducted by CBSE twice in a year, once in March to April, 2013, and again in November to December. The JEE 2013 will be bifurcated into two parts - JEE - Main Paper & JEE - Advance Paper.
|The advance test will be designed by the joint address board (JAB) of the IITs. As IITs have a preference for subjective type of question, it is likely that JEE might be a subjective type paper too. HRD minister has stated that JAB of the IIT system would have complete control on matters such as paper setting, evaluation and preparation of merit list over the advanced test.|
JEE Advance paper is expected to be more difficult than the School Board curriculum. The level of difficulty might be as much as at AIEEE preparation level. This paper is compulsory from the point of view of gaining admissions into IITs and NITs while it is optional for other central and state level institutions.
JEE Advance will constitute of the following aspects:
- Duration of JEE Advance paper - 3 hours
- Test Pattern of JEE Advance – Problem Solving Ability in Basic Science Subjects
- Weightage attributed to JEE Advance - 30% minimum
- Class XII board performance will have a weightage of not less than 40 percent and it can go upto 100 percent. The combined weightage of JEE Main and Advance will not be more than 60 percent.
