QLTT Head IV Syllabus

QLTT syllabus of the Principles of the Common Law is given below:

The candidate should be able to demonstrate

  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of the common law
  • Competence in the English language.
The candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the principles of the common law may be tested by questions on
  • The candidate’s understanding of the basic principles of land law and the manner in which they apply to conveyancing transactions
  • The candidate’s understanding of the basic principles of contract law and the manner in which they apply to conveyancing transactions
  • A working knowledge of the legal system
  • A working knowledge of the principal statutes and substantive law as they apply to actions in:
  • Contract
  • Tort
In answering the questions put by the examiners of the Oral Head the candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to use English appropriately, coherently, precisely and clearly.
