TISS 2012 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for admission to various postgraduate programs is a bachelor's degree with atleast 15 years of formal education. If you wish to take admission to any of the master's program, you need to be atleast a graduate along with the specific requirements of the individual program.
TISS Master of Public Health Eligibility Criteria
- A Master's Degree in any discipline, or
- A Bachelor's Degree in medicine, or
- A Bachelor's Degree (other than medicine) with at least 2 years experience in the health sector after graduation.
Important Note
- A Bachelor's Degree of a candidate must be of a minimum of three year's duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university.
- Medical graduates should complete their internship on or before June 21, of the admission year. Otherwise their candidature/admission will be automatically cancelled.
TISS Post Graduate Courses Eligibility Criteria

A Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3-year duration or equivalent grade (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirement of 15 years of formal education) in any discipline.

Candidates appearing for the final year Bachelor’s examination provided they provide the degree before June 12, 2010 of the admission year.
TISS Certificate Courses Eligibility Criteria
If you wish to pursue a certificate course in TISS, you should hold a Bachelor's degree recognised by the UGC. Other than that, some courses have specific eligibility requirements as well.
Diploma in Gerontology at the Centre for Lifelong Learning
- Preference to be given to those with work experience in clinical, social and developmental settings.
- All NGO personnel involved with geriatric services in fields such as health, mental health and education; administrators of human service organizations and corporate sector personnel.
- 5 Seats will be reserved for candidates in the Age Group 55+
Diploma in Counselling at the Center for Lifelong Learing
- All NGO personnel involved in direct work with people in fields, such as, health, mental health and education, and corporate sector personnel.
PG Diploma in Disaster Preparedness and Response at the Jamsetji Tata Center for Disaster Management
- Candidates with basic people skills and sensitivity towards mental health issues would be preferred. Thus candidates with graduate/ post-graduate degrees or those with demonstrated interest in working with people for a minimum of one year would be preferred. Sponsored candidates from organizations working in the area of disasters would be given special preference.
Advanced Certificate in Social Welfare Administration
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field of development administration of social welfare organisations, social services and social security measures can also apply.
Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling

Graduates in any discipline with a minimum of 40% of the aggregate marks are eligible. Preference will be given to applicants who are Graduates in Psychology, Social Work or have had training in Special Education. Preference will also be given to Graduates with at least two years experience in Social Welfare or Disabled Welfare.
