Business Process Management

Business Process Management (BPM) is systematic management methodology of supporting all and every prospective of an organization or company as fitting with the wants and needs of clients. It is total management approach for selling businesses while at the same time determined for improvement, elasticity and amalgamation with technology. Business Process Management (BPM) strives continuously to improve process of doing business.

It is believed that, Business Process Management (BPM) turns organizations into more effective and efficient business ventures capable of change with changing world market scenario. Business Process Management (BPM) proves profitable and cost effective too when compared with traditional management system based on hierarchy. Sometimes, Business Process Management (BPM) also termed as Process Optimization Process. 

A Business Process is a set of relevant and well formed activities capable in producing product or services which meet the needs of potential customers. Business Processes are critical to any company or organization and represents a considerable portion of cost involved. Business Process Management (BPM) takes into account the business process strategies as important asset and tools of business for delivering products and services to customers.

Widely speaking, Business Process Management (BPM) is a methodology to add changes to an organization, both technologies based and humans based.  

The techniques of Business Process Management (BPM) are utilized to understand and operate organizations or company based on expanded views, which is neither existing nor utilized in present. Business Process Management (BPM) considered as backbone of Business Management. Business Process Management (BPM) gives competitiveness to business ventures.

In IT Service Management (ITSM), Business Process Management (BPM) is considered part of doing business. Without adequate Business Process Management (BPM), no IT venture is complete and less likely to get customer and generate profit. The activities of Business Process Management (BPM) grouped under 5 categories, viz; design, modeling, execution, monitoring, and optimization.

A course in Business Process Management (BPM) teaches management students all about Business Procession Operation and Analysis. Changing consumer needs, rising market competition, and emerging technologies all makes powerful impact on existing business products and services. To keep pace with all this and other factors, technology of business process management is utilized in companies. The manufacturing and service process analysts must be able to understand business and technology decisions.

The Business Managers must have knowledgeable about current technology, the integrated flow of materials/paperwork in manufacturing and service operations, the traditional business areas of finance/marketing/ accounting/management, as well as modeling and data analysis techniques for better functional decision making. The specialist will also be tasked to confirming documented workflows, identifying client and external interfaces, testing of the workflow system, and training users.

Major work areas in Business Process management include: Accounting, Finance, Marketing/ Distribution Management, Computer information systems and Production/Operations Management
