Rise in demand for MBA courses in Maharashtra after 5 years
Almost 95,000 candidates have applied for MAH-CET this year, which is the common entrance test in Maharashtra for admission to MBA courses. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) says that the increase in application can be attributed to the decision to keep a common entrance test for admission to management courses in the state. In 2015, the number of applications were around 60,000 and last year it was almost 74,000. This year, the number of application jumped by 2,0000 which is a huge progress as compared to last few years.
The registration for MAH-CET has already ended two days back, on 13 February, 2017. There are currently 360 management institutes in the states with 37,000 seats approximately which means for every seat almost 3 students are competing this year. The Director of DTE, Dayanand Meshram said that the number of intake for each institute can go up depending on the approval by the government in April.
