Navdeep Singh from Punjab tops NEET 2017

The NEET 2017 results were declared today, 23 June after Supreme Court ordered CBSE to declare NEET results by June 26. Previously the NEET 2017 results were scheduled to be released on 8 June. the exam took place on 7 May. Navdeep Singh from Punjab has become the NEET 2017 topper with 99.99 percentile. Navdeep has scored 697 marks.
In the top 25 scorers, there are 9 girls and 16 boys. Archit Gupta from Madhya Pradesh, who was the second topper in the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2017 has emerged as the second topper in CBSE NEET 2017 as well with 695 marks. Manish Mulchandani who is also from Madhya Pradesh and has also scored 695 marks in the exam. The percentile score for both Archit Gupta and Manish Mulchandani is 99.999725.
Among the girls, the first topper is Nikita Goyal from Punjab and has bagged AIR 8 with 690 marks. The second topper among girls is Nishita Purohit, who is incidentally the All India Topper for AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2017, with 685 marks. Narreddy Manvitha from Andhra Pradesh secured AIR 14. She has also scored 685 marks in the exam.

Total 611739 students have qualified the exam this year. The qualifying marks for admissions in open category was 131 and that for students in the reserved category was 107. Around 80 per cent students appeared for the test in English. Of the total 6.11 lakhs students who qualified,3.45 lakhs were girls.
The counselling process for admissions to 65,170 MBBS and 25,730 dental seats will begin soon. The counselling process will be done on two levels, one is by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% All India Seats and other is by respective state government appointed authorities for the remaining 85% seats. The state counselling will be done for government, government-aided and private medical institutes.
