UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam 2017: Important Dates and Application Procedure
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued a notification on its official website, on 26 April, Wednesday, regarding the important dates and application procedure for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2017.
There are around 710 vacancies that will be filled through the Combined Medical Services Exam.

The eligibility criteria and important instructions with respect to the UPSC combined medical services exam will be available on the official website of UPSC, upsconline.nic.in.
An e-admission certificate/admit card will be issued for all the candidates appearing for the exam, three weeks before the day of the exam, on the official website.
The Combined Medical Services Examination will be conducted in two stages.
The first stage includes a computer based exam of 2 papers that will carry 250 marks each. The candidates will get 2 hours to answer each paper.
General Ability - 30 questions
General Medicine - 70 questions
Paediatrics - 20 questions
Surgery - 40 questions
Gynaecology & Obstetrics - 40 questions
Preventive & Social Medicine - 40 questions
In the second stage, once the candidate clears the computer based examination, they will be called for a personality test which carries 100 marks.
Note: There is negative marking for any wrong answers in the objective type questions.
