With a current backlog of 4000 foreign visa applications, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia said that it was caused by EMGS’s sluggishness at public as well as private universities. Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), a non-profit organization, also had the role of monitoring and coordinating matters related to marketing and promotions aside from recruiting international students to Malaysia.
Life in Malaysia will be great for Indian students as the cost of living in Malaysia is less. Indian students will also have a lot of options when it comes to choosing their preferred university for their education as the student visa requirements for Malaysia are much simpler and straightforward. Education in Malaysia is getting popular year after year as students from India as well as other nations, from all around the world, come to this country including nations like Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Libya and several other countries from the Middle East. Countries such as United States of America, United Kingdom, Japan and Australia have shown an increasing interest in pursuing their higher studies in Malaysia.
The Malaysian government is also willing to provide visas to the parents or guardians, especially from the Middle East. This move by the Malaysian Government will be of great help for Indian parents as it can enable them to look after their children in Malaysia. As a matter of national security, the parents or guardians will have to undergo security screenings before they are granted visas. For acquiring a long term visa in Malaysia, ‘Malaysia My Second Home’ (MM2H) programme enables people to stay in the country for a period of 10 years, also taking into account that an extension is possible. Aside from submitting the necessary documents, the MM2H programme has its own set of rules and other requirements for Malaysia visa such as financial requirements, medical requirements, restrictions and incentives.
