Whether to choose BCA + MCA or B.Tech depends upon your educational background and whether you meet the eligibility conditions for either of these courses.
You can be of any stream (that has Mathematics and English) to pursue BCA.
However BTEch can be pursued only by students of science stream (who have taken science in 10+2) who are eligible to appear in common/separate engineering entrance examinations.
Secondly, the choice depends upon the institute where the student wishes to pursue the degree.
In B.Tech (CSE/IT/SE) programme both the theoretical and practical concepts are strengthened which leads to in-depth knowledge.
Whereas MCA is a specialised and professional degree course that gives more practical knowledge to the student.
In addition if the student wants to pursue Ph.D programme then MCA is a better option than B.Tech.
Most importnatly, choosing between MCA or M.Tech for higher education totally depends on your interest.
