- Approved tuition and examination fees
- Personal maintenance allowance
- Grant towards the preparation of thesis ot dissertation
- Travel grant for domestic travel
- Approved medical expenses
- One-time arrival allowance including a clothing grant for scholars from tropical countries
- Field work grant where necessary
- Spouse and children allowance for married scholars selected for awards exceeding 12 months
- Passage Cost: Economy class return airfare
