NCERT - National Talent Scholarships


Eligibility Criteria - The candidate should
  • be a class X student in a recognized school
  • have qualified in the National Talent Search Examination and interview
  • pursue further studies in India
Award Details

1) Number of Awards - 750

2) Duration - Up to second degree

3) Value
  • Rs.200–500 pm as scholarship and
  • Rs.500-1000 pa as Book Grant depending on the course of study
4) Contingency Grant - For PhD awardees as per UGC norms

Selection Procedure - Awardees are selected through two levels of Talent Search Examinations at State Level and National Level. Those who qualify the National Level are called for an interview.



Notification & Deadline
  • June/ July/ August of each year
  • Deadline as per the notification by each State/ UT
