National Renewable Energy FellowshipsEligibility Criteria The candidate should
- be admitted to MTech or PhD programmes in any of the Institutes or Universities listed in Annexure-I
- have a minimum valid GATE score of 75 percentile. (Where the GATE system is not followed, the candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks (in aggregate) at the BTech/ MSc. level)
Fellowship Details1) Duration - MTech 2 years
PhD 2 years (JRF) + 3 years (SRF)
2) Value - MTech Rs.5000 pm
PhD Rs.5000 pm(JRF)
Without MTech Rs.8000 pm(SRF)
Contingency GrantMTech Rs.5000 pa
PhDRs.10000 pa
Application Procedure - - Applications in the prescribed format can be downloaded from the official website.
- Applications for PhD fellowships should be accompanied by a 2-page research proposal/plan in Renewable Energy or related area clearly indicating the objectives/goals and expected outcome, and its utility to the Renewable Energy sector and the respective Departments/ Centres of the concerned Institutions admitting them
Selection ProcedureSelections are made by a National Committee constituted for the NRE Fellowships by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources.
Notification & Deadline Twice a year by the concerned Institutes/ Universities
