The Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi offers Merit cum means based scholarship to students from Minority communities to pursue higher studies.
The scheme is meant for Minority categories of Delhi only i.e. students belonging to Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Parsis and Buddihists. It is clarified, further, that the scheme is meant for students belonging to Minority categories of Delhi only irrespective of their place of study Student belonging to Minority categories residing in other states/having domicile of overstates than Delhi shall submit their applications in their native state only irrespective of their place of study.
Eligible students belonging to minority communities pursuing technical or professional courses at undergraduate/post graduate level in the Institution recognized by appropriate authority for Merit cum means based scholarship to be awarded by the Ministry of Minority affairs, Govt. of India are advised to submit their application on the prescribed format and other requisite documents duly forwarded by the Institution by way of a forwarding letter to the Dy. Director, Department for the welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minority, B-Block, llnd floor, Vikas Bhawan, l.P Estate, New Delhi-110002.
Note: Students belonging to Minority categories of Delhi who have applied earlier should not apply again.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students,who have got admission in a recognized college to pursuetechnical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination.
- Students,who have got admission in a recognized college to pursuetechnical/professional courses, without facing any competitiveexamination, will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such studentsshould have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level.Selection of these students will be done strictly of merit,
- Ascholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any otherscholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.
- Theannual family income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of thebeneficiary should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum from all sources.
- A student residing in a particular State/UT will be entitled for scholarship under the quota of that State/UT only irrespective of his place of study.
Scholarship Details
These scholarships are available for studies in India only.
Conditions for Scholarship:
- Financialassistance will be given to pursue degree and/or post graduate leveltechnical and professional courses from a recognized institution.Maintenance allowance will be credited to the student`s account.
- Studentswho get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses,on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for thescholarship,
- Studentswho get admission in technical/professional courses without facing anycompetitive examination will also be eligible for scholarship. However,such students should have not less than 50% marks at highersecondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be donestrictly on merit basis,
- Continuationof the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on successfulcompletion of the course during the preceding year.
- A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the course,
- Theannual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary shouldnot exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh from all sources.
- 30%scholarship will be reserved for girls of each minority community in astate which is transferable to male student of that community in case ofnon-availability of female candidate in that community in the concernedstate.
- A student residing in a particular State/UT will be entitled for scholarship under the quota of that State/UT only irrespective of his place of study.
Value of Scholarship:
The value of scholarship is set as follows:

Application Procedure
1. An application for scholarship should comprise:
a) One copy of the application for scholarship in the prescribed form (separate application forms prescribed for `fresh and renewal of scholarship by the concerned States/UTs)
b) One copy of the passport size photograph with signatures of the student there on (for fresh scholarship).
c) One attested copy of certificates, diploma, degree etc. in respect of all examinations passed
d) An income declaration by the self-employed parents/guardians, stating definite income from all sources by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper. Employed parents/guardians are required to obtain income certificate from their employer and for any additional income from other sources, they would furnish declaration by way an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper.
e) Proof of permanent residence.
f) A receipt in acknowledgment of the scholarship in the previous year on the form attached to the application duly counter-signed by the Head of the Institution concerned, if the application was in receipt of a scholarship under this scheme in the preceding year.
g) A declaration that He/She belongs to a particular Minority Community by way of an affidavit on Non-judicial stamp paper be enclosed with application.
2. Application complete in all respects shall be submitted to the Head of the Institution, being attended or last attended by the candidates and shall be addressed to the Deputy Director, Department for the welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minority, llnd floor, B-Block, Vikas Bhawan, I. P. Estate, New Delhi-110002.
