Since 1961-62, the state of Kerala has been assisting students through its National Merit Scholarships scheme. The objective of this scheme is to provide scholarship for Post Metric studies to the brilliant but poor students, so that they can pursue their studies in spite of their poverty and hardship.
Scholarship Criterion:
- National Merit Scholarships Directorate is meant only for students from Post Matric course onwards.
- The scholarships will be granted to Keralite only.
- All applications must be forwarded through the Principal/ Head of the Institution in which the student is/was studying.
- All application and joining report must be signed by the principal /head of the institution and student in the respective columns.
- Scholarship are renewed every year with in the time limit notified.
- Renewal application should accompany with attested copies of the previous examination.
- Specific reasons should be furnished through an application by the applicant for his/her break of study if any.
- Joining report must be submitted along with the scholarship application at the beginning of a particular course of study.
- Income certificate of the parent issued by the concerned Revenue Authority must be enclosed with the application.
- 11. Attested copies of the Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Board must be enclosed while applying for Grant/Educational concession to Blind /PH students.
