Science Courses After Class 12

Choosing the right course after higher secondary is very important, since the professional career of an individual starts with his graduation. Keeping this in mind, NNE has listed a few courses that one can take up, after having completed his higher secondary in science:

Engineering: According to a recent survey conducted by the NCAER (National Council for Advanced Economic Research), Engineering is the most sought after course in India. There are many institutes that offer a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Some institutes term the Bachelor’s degree as BE or Bachelor of Engineering and some term it B.Tech or Bachelor in Technology. The job prospects increase manifold with a BE or B.Tech degree. You can get into the software field, or enter as a mechanical engineer or as an electrical engineer as per your specialization.

MBBS: For a science student with Biology in class 12, MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery). It is the basic degree for an aspiring doctor. After completing your MBBS, you can specialize in fields such as neurosurgery, psychiatry and orthopedics. The job industry is huge, and you can work in a hospital or set up your own private clinic. There are many allied fields, such as BDS or, Bachelors of Dental Sciences. It is the graduate degree required for you to become a dentist.

B.Sc Statistics: The curriculum of B.Sc (h) is designed in such a manner that you are taught subjects like probability and permutations. B.Sc Economics: A BA or BSc Economics is one of the lucrative degrees in India today. While most of the colleges across India offer a Bachelors degree in Economics, some give a BA degree, some offer a BSc degree.
