Your language does need to be correct but does not mean that if it is incorrect it is the end of the world. The tone matters when it comes to your target audience. As soon as you have several blogs written, it is time to build your network. It is alright to make the most out of your social media account especially on Facebook. But if you really want to make an impact prior to embarking on your career or soon-to-be profession, it is wise to use LinkedIn.
