Once you have chosen your course and university, you can get your application forms in any one of the following ways:

  1. Via email: One can request application forms from the universities website. Most universities have a form on their website, which can be completed and submitted online to request application material.

  2. Downloading from the university website: Many universities have provides Download Application Forms option on their respective websites. Print outs of the forms can be taken and used as regular application forms.

  3. Getting applications from University Representatives: One can also get the application forms from many authorized representatives of Australian Universities across the country.

  4. You can also get in touch with the Australian Embassy and ask them to send you information about the university you wish to pursue education from.

Documents required for application

For Undergraduate courses students will be required to submit their academic transcripts, a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation and a proof of their proficiency in English Language. The TOEFL or IELTS score is a testimony of a student’s proficiency in the language.

The statement of purpose should include a student’s reasons for choosing a particular course and institute and his present and future goals.

A recommendation letter is a signed statement from a person who knows the applicant well professionally or has taught him in a subject that is related to the course he is applying to. Ideally, it should list his positive and negative qualities, strengths and other such information.


For post graduate courses students will be required to submit their academic transcripts, a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation and a proof of their proficiency in English Language, as in a TOEFL / IELTS tests. In addition, certain postgraduate courses like MBA may require GMAT score of the applicant. Work experience of the applicant is also a pre-requisite for certain courses like the MBA or other vocational courses. Students applying for a post graduate research program are required to submit their detailed research proposal.

On successful application, students are issued an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). A student must have an eCoE to apply for his student visa. In some instances, a student will be requested to undergo a pre-visa assessment before eCoE is issued.
