Preparatory course
All international students willing to go on to a course of Higher Education in Russian are offered a one year Preparatory Course, which serves to prepare an applicant for taking university degree program.
Russian Language training is the core of Preparatory Course. The content of the Preparatory Course is relevant to a degree program which you will take.
There are 4 fields in the Preparatory Course:
Technical (maths, physics, computer) Medical Biological (chemistry, biology) Humanities (literature, country studies, geography)
Economics
The Russian language module occupies the major part of the Preparatory program (55% for the technical stream, 70% in humanities) Maths, Physics, Introduction to Engineering Graphics, Biology, Literature etc are offered to prepare you for your chosen degree program.
Upon successful completion of the course and a Russian language state test called Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) you will be awarded a First Level Certificate in TORFL, which is required for admission to any University or other Higher Education Institution in Russian.
The Preparatory Course starts on October, 1, the following June is the time for taking TORFL.
The intensive Preparatory course starts on January, 15 and lasts till August. China:
China is one country where Chinese is the major teaching language for International students. All the books periodicals and reference materials in Chinese universities are mostly in Chinese. Hence International students, enrolled in a university or institute with Chinese as the medium of instruction should have to have a command of Chinese to a certain level in order to finish their studies smoothly.
Of late, China has started offering many popular programmes especially in medical sciences in English a medium of instruction.
