AILET 2016 Exam Pattern
The AILET exam pattern varies for its B.A, LL.B (Hons.), LL.M and Ph.D Programmes.
Exam Pattern of AILET 2016 for admission to B.A, LL.B (Hons.) programme:
Total number of questions
Duration of exam
1.5 hours (3 pm - 4.30 pm on 3 May, 2015)
Subject areas and marks distribution:
(Current Affairs, General Science, History, Geography, Economics, Civics)
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability)
You can obtain AILET Previous Question Papers (2008-2014) Booklet by depositing cash of Rs.500 at the office of the National Law University, Delhi or by sending a DD of Rs.550 in favour of "Registrar, National Law University, Delhi" payable at Delhi.
Exam Pattern of AILET 2016for admission to LL.M programme:
Duration of examination
Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory
Total Number of questions
100 questions of one mark each
One Essay of 50 marks on a topic of law from above subjects.
Exam Pattern of AILET 2016for admission to Ph.D programme:
The written test will consist of two papers:
i. Paper I – Research Methodology
100 marks, Objective type 100 questions of Multiple Choice, 1.5 hours
ii. Paper II – Research Proposal Specific Paper
The paper-II shall not be a written paper. You have to submit a research proposal not exceeding 15 pages on the topic in which you want to pursue a Ph.D.
Your Research Proposal should have
b) Statement of problem & background information on the subject
c) A set of research questions along with hypothesis & Methodology; and
d) Research design
iii. You must submit 3 copies of your Research Proposal after the AILET 2016results are declared; failing which you will not be interviewed.
Each paper (I & II) carries a maximum of 100 marks.
iv. Candidates successful in the written test shall be required to make an oral presentation before the Doctoral Committee on the dates notified by NLU.
