COMEDK UGET 2013 Announced


The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) will be held to shortlist candidates for admission to 25 dental, 12 medical and over 150 engineering colleges. Approximately 20,000 seats are expected to be available. Undergraduate admission will be made for courses in member institutions of the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Trust (KPCF).

Scores from COMEDK UGET 2013 are only valid for the upcoming academic year.


Approximate course duration and internship length is listed below:

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS): Four years, one-year internship
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.): Four years
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS): Four and a half years, one-year internship
  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.): Five years

Eligibility criteria


According to Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India regulations, candidates should have passed a recognized 2nd Pre-University Course (PUC), 10+2 exam or equivalent. The most recent two years of study must have included physics, chemistry and biology along with English. At least 50 percent total marks (40 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes candidates) in the above subjects is required. At least 50 percent marks (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates) should be obtained in the entrance test. At least 50 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates) marksin the entrance test for English are also required for rank.

Candidates should be at least 17 on or before 31 Decemeber, 2013 on the year of admission. If you passed your qualifying exam before 2009, you should not apply.


Candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC, 10+2 or equivalent exam with mathematics and other subjects. A 10+3 diploma recognized by the central or state government is also accepted. You must have earned at least 50 percent aggregate marks (45 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka). Please note that you should have taken the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and earned a score of at least 80 out of 200 (for general merit and category candidates).

Important note: COMEDK is not holding an entrance test for B.Arch. candidates. If you are applying to this course, submit a separate applciation form with a Rs. 700 demand draft in favor of COMEDK.


According to norms from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), candidates should have passed a recognized 2nd PUC, 10+2 or equivalent. Your last two years of study must have included physics, chemistry and mathematics, along with English. For general merit candidates, a minimum of 45 aggregate marks in these subjects is required (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka). Each subject also should have been passed individually. Compulsory subjects are physics and mathematics, as well as biology, biotechnology, chemistry or a technical vocational course as a optional subject.

Diploma candidates may not appear for the test.

Exam pattern

Test answers should be marked on the OMR answer sheet. No negative marking will be used, each correct response earns one mark. In the case of multiple marked answers, no credit is given.


Engineering courses will have one paper that includes physics, chemistry and mathematics. The paper will be three hours in length.


  • Physics (60 questions), chemistry (60 questions) and mathematics (60 questions): 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Two papers will be held: physics and chemistry (one hour) and biology and English (one and a half hours).


  • Physics (60 questions) and chemistry (60 questions): 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Biology (60 questions) and English (30 questions): 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Medical/Dental and Engineering

One paper will include physics, chemistry and mathematics (three hours). The second paper will include biology and English (one and a half hours).

Both (MBBS/BDS and B.E.)

  • Physics (60 questions), chemistry (60 questions) and mathematics (60 questions): 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Biology (60 questions) and English (30 questions): 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Application procedure

Applicants must complete the application form online at When you begin the application, have the following ready: 10th standard marks card, demand draft and SC/ST/OBC or minority certificate (linguistic, religious) if applicable. The demand draft should be taken from a nationalized bank in favour of COMEDK, payable at Bangalore. The fee for 3 subjects (PCB or PCM - MBBS/BDS or B.E.) is Rs. 1,200 and Rs. 1,500 for four subjects (PCMB - MBBS/BDS or B.E.). Make sure to check all the necessary details before submitting your application, and note your six-digit application number. Print out the application form. The form should be sent in an A4 size envelope only, along with a recent passport size colour photograph and a date of birth certificate. Read all application instructions carefully before finishing your application. The completed form should reach the COMEDK office by courier or speed post by 15 April, 2013 (5 p.m.) at the following address:
