Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance (EAMCET) 2014 for Adnhra Pradesh students

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance (EAMCET) 2014. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) is conducting EAMCET 2014 for Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) this year. Those seeking admission into various professional courses in the University and private aided and unaided colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh will be required to take this common entrance test. EAMCET 2014 scores can be used to seek admission to professional courses such as B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B.Pharm, BHMS, BNYS etc.


EAMCET 2014 is conducted for two categories which includes Agriculture and Medical Category (AM) and Engineering Category (E). Under these two head falls various professional courses as listed below:

EAMCET 2014 exam date: 17 May, 2014 (Engineering: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Agri & Medical: 2.30 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.)

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to appear for EAMCET 2014 applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Applicants should be Indian nationals or Persons of Indian origin.
  • Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh or should satisfy the status requirement laid down by the state.

Exam pattern and syllabus

The examination is objective type questions. The EAMCET-2014 will follow multiple choice questions and answer format under three sections depending on the choice of category. For Engineering stream questions will be based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. On the other hand, for Agriculture and Medical category questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It will be a three hour test which will consist of 160 questions comprising of 80 questions in Mathematics/Biology(depending your stream), 40 question in Physics and 40 question in Chemistry. Syllabus for EAMCET 2014 for Agriculture & Medical Stream will be based on the syllabus introduced by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh and will follow the 10+2 level of syllabus. Subjects included are Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Physics based on the intermediate level examination syllabus.

Syllabus for Engineering Stream is also based on 10+2 level school syllabus prescribed for Intermediate course. Questions will be based on subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Application procedure

To apply for EAMCET 2014, you will be required to apply Online. The application form has to be completed and submitted online. The application/Registration fee is Rs. 250 for single stream (and Rs. 500 for both streams) which can paid through AP online/E-SEVA/ MEE SEVA centers or Credit Card/Debit Card.

Criteria for ranking shall be assigned in the order of merit on the basis of combined marks obtained by giving 75% weightage to scores obtained in EAMCET 2014 and 25% to the marks obtained in relevant stream papers i.e. Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry of the qualifying exam.
