Faculty of Medical Sciences (DU) Super Specialty (DM/M.Ch.) Courses Entrance Test - SET 2013
The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMSc) of the University of Delhi (DU) will conduct entrance tests (SET 2013) on 1 June and 2 June, 2013 for admission to its super specialty courses :
1. DM (Doctorate of Medicine)
The DM is a three-year super specialty program in medicine. The entry requirement for this course is an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DNB (Diplomate of National Board).
2. M.Ch. (Magister Chirurgiae or Master of Chirurgical)
The M.Ch. is a three-year super specialty program in surgery. The entry requirement for this course is an MS (Master of Surgery) or DNB (Diplomate of National Board).

Please note that more seats or institutions may be added or deleted with approval from the University of Delhi or the MCI or the Central Government.
Eligibility criteria
In order to be eligible for admission to any of these super specialty courses, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Successfully pass the final MBBS exam and satisfactorily complete one year of a compulsory rotating internship.
2. Be registered with the Delhi Medical Council or State Medical Council or MCI.
3. Pass the postgraduate (MD or MS) examination of DU or any other examination recognized as equivalent by DU and MCI on or before Sunday 30 June, 2013:

*A candidate with a DNB will be eligible for admission to super speciality courses only if they have done thesis work. The candidate would need to furnish proof of the thesis.
4. Score 400 marks out of 800, i.e. 50 percent marks in the SET. The results of only those candidates who secure 50 percent marks or above will be declared.
5. Be medically fit to pursue the allocated course.

Application procedure
Interested and eligible candidates can obtain the SET application form and bulletin of information from:
Office of the Deputy Registrar,
Faculty of Medical Sciences,
6th Floor, V.P. Chest Institute Building,
University of Delhi, Delhi-110007
in any of the following two ways:
(i) By hand: Pay Rs. 2,500 to obtain the application form and bulletin directly from the office of the deputy registrar between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. (lunch hours 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.) on all working days from 25 March to 30 April, 2013.
(ii) By post: Pay Rs. 2,550 and send a self addressed envelope (10" X 8") that reaches the office of the deputy registrar before 12 April, 2013 to obtain the application form and bulletin by post.
The payment must be made by a demand draft (MICR bank draft) or a banker's cheque drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of the Registrar, University of Delhi payable at Delhi. The candidate should write his name, address and telephone number at the back of the bank draft/banker's cheque. The candidate should save a photocopy of the bank draft/banker's cheque.
Candidates who want to apply for more than one course need to pay an additional amount of Rs. 500.
The completed SET application form must be submitted along with attested copies of the following certificates (as per the requirements of the course or courses a candidate applies to):
1. High School/Higher Secondary Certificate for verification of candidate's date of birth
2. MBBS Degree
3. Detailed marks certificate of qualifying examinations: I, II & Final Professional examination of MBBS
4. Compulsory rotating internship certificate
5. Registration Certificate from Delhi Medical Council/State Medical Council/ Medical Council of India
6. MD/MS Degree/DNB Certificate
7. MD/MS/DNB Examination attempt Certificate
8. Proof of thesis in case the candidate has passed the DNB course
9. Employer's Certificate, if employed
Candidates should not attach any original certificates with the application form.
Exam pattern and exam schedule
The entrance test for DM super specialty courses will be conducted on 1 June and 2 June, 2013 and will consist of two papers (Paper I & Paper II).
Paper I is a common paper of medicine for all five DM specialties and will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. The test has 80 objective type questions for 320 marks.
Paper II is for specific DM specialties and has 120 objective type questions for 480 marks. The exam schedule for Paper II:
1. DM Cardiology - 10:50 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.
2. DM Gastroenterology - 1:10 p.m. - 3:10 p.m.
3. DM Neurology - 3:30 p.m. - 05:30 p.m.
The entrance test for M.Ch. super specialty courses will be conducted on 1 June and 2 June, 2013 and also consists of two papers (Paper I & Paper II).

2. DM Pulmonary Medicine - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
3. DM Neonatology - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Every correct answer will earn you four marks and every incorrect answer will deduct one mark from the total score.
