Maharashtra Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (MAH-MCA-CET) 2013
The Maharashtra Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (MAH-MCA-CET) will be held on 7 April 2013 in Maharashtra and a few cities outside the state. Admission will be available to government aided, government, university managed, university departments and unaided institutes in Maharashtra.
Directorate of Technical Education
The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, maintains standards for technical education through developing government institutions, forming policies and supervising aided, private institutions. It also works with state government departments and Government of India Statutory Organisations.
Admission is available for the postgraduate Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree, either as a first-year/direct second-year (separate division and lateral entry) in the three-year full-time course.

It is possible to submit the online application form late by paying an additional late fee (Rs. 1,000) in cash on 14 or 15 March (between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.) at Sydenham Institute of Management Studies Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), B-Road, Near Church gate Station, Church gate, Mumbai-400020.

The minimum eligibility criteria to appear for the exam is 50 percent aggregate marks in any bachelor's degree of at least three year duration from a recognized university, or the equivalent. Minimum marks for backward class categories and Physically Handicapped candidates from Maharashtra state are 45 percent. Candidates should also have studied mathematics or statistics as a subject at the 10+2 level or higher. If you have appeared for the final year exam of a pending bachelor's degree, you are also eligible provided you earn the minimum marks as listed above.
If your bachelor's degree was the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (Computer/Information Technology) or Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS), mathematics or statistics at the 10+2 level or higher is not required. These candidates are eligible for the first-year/second-year in the three-year degree.
The test will be conducted online at exam centres, with all questions being multiple choice objective type. Questions are in English only. There are two papers (each 45 minutes) worth 100 marks each with 25 questions on each paper. The two papers are General Aptitude (GA) and Computer Concepts (CC).
Each correct answer carries four marks. For each incorrect response, one negative mark is given. Unanswered questions are marked zero.

The application kit will be available at certain Axis Bank branches. Candidates can apply online by submitting and confirming the online application form (at www.dte.org.in/mca2013).The printed application may only be obtained after confirming the application. No documents need to be submitted by mail during the online application form stage.
The application fee may be paid at select Axis Bank Branches in cash, or online with Internet payment, credit card or debit card. For open category candidates from Maharashtra state and from outside the state, the fee is Rs. 750. For backward class categories from Maharashtra, the fee is Rs. 550.
The exam will be held in Maharashtra and in the following cities outside the state:
