NALSAR University of Law offers specialised MBA Programmes 2013-2014

NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad has invited applications for admission to a full-time two-year programme for Master of Business Administration (MBA) management course for the academic session 2013 to 2014. The programme is conducted on campus.


The programme is based on imparting knowledge regarding management skills and law that will find practical application. This MBA program is coupled with major specializations in the following:

  • Court Management
  • Corporate Governance
  • Financial Services and Capital Markets

Minor specializations include:

  • Marketing Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Business Regulations

This combination of major and minor specialization aims to prepare students with knowledge of legal affairs and managerial qualities. This programme is intended to lead students to careers in corporate houses, insurance companies, financial markets, law firms, banks, consulting firms, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) and media houses, as well as public sector undertakings in India.

Important dates

  • Availability of application forms: Forms can be downloaded now at the official website
  • Last date to submit applications: 21 June, 2013 until 4 p.m.
  • Entrance test date: 30 June, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Date for group discussion and personal interview: 15 July to 18 July, 2013
  • Classes commence from: 1 August, 2013

Eligibility criteria

  • All students with Indian nationality will belong to the general category; those belonging to scheduled castes and tribes will belong to the reserved category; a separate category has been allotted to foreign nationals and disabled students
  • Students must have 50% marks in aggregate in their graduation results from a recognised university in India
  • The age of the students as on 1 August, 2013 must not be more than 30 years for general students, 32 years for reserved class and disabled students and 35 years for foreign nationals
  • Foreign nationals need not take the admission test and their selection will be done in order of merit in the qualifying exam

Allotment of seats

  • Out of the 60 seats available, 40 seats belong to the general class, 12 seats belong to the reserved class, 2 are allotted to disabled category and 6 seats are allotted for foreign student
  • If at any time the desired number of competent students is not found in any category other than the general, the allotted seats will be available for students in the general category

Application procedure

  • Applications are to be downloaded from the official website
  • Duly filled in applications must be send to the registrar with a demand draft of Rs. 2,100/- in favour of "NALSAR MBA A/C" by June 21, 2013 at 4 p.m., after which applications will not be accepted
  • Admission will be strictly done on basis of the admission test followed by the group discussion and personal interview session

Exam pattern

Students have to answer questions with a total of 75 marks. The bifurcation of marks for the written test are as follows:

  1. 30 marks assessing verbal ability and reading comprehension
  2. 30 marks for numerical ability and data interpretation
  3. 15 marks for general knowledge and current affairs
  • Assessment for 15 marks will be done in the group discussion session
  • Assessment for 10 marks will be done in the personal interview session
