UPSC Civil Services 2023: Today, the Civil Services 2023 exam notification was made public by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The commission has announced 1105 vacancies this year, which is a record high compared to the previous seven years. The commission advertised 1209 positions in 2016, and the number of openings decreased till last year.

The Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS), Group “A,” added a total of 150 jobs in 2021, which resulted in an increase in the number of openings from 861 to 1011.

According to the notification, the government had made the decision to fill 150 positions in the Group “A” Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) through the 2022 Civil Services Examination. As a result, the government’s Department of Personnel & Training has announced that the IRMS, Group “A,” would be added to the list of services eligible for hiring through the Civil Services Examination-2022.

Registration: The Civil Services Examinations (CSE) 2023 application process was launched today by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The application form must be submitted by February 21. Candidates who meet the requirements and are interested can submit an online application at upsconline.nic.in.

UPSC Civil Services 2023: Eligibility criteria

The applicant must be an Indian citizen in order to register for the UPSC Civil Services test. They should be at least 21 years old and no older than 32 years old. For several groups, including those in the SC, ST, OBC, and defense services, the upper age limit is lowered.

A candidate must possess a graduate degree from one of the accredited universities, according to the official announcement.

At the CSE 2023, eligible applicants are allowed six tries. Hopefuls from the SC and ST categories, however, are allowed an unlimited number of tries, while OBC candidates are limited to nine. Candidates for PwBD in the general and EWS categories are also allowed nine tries.

UPSC Civil Services 2023: Steps to register

Step 1- Go to the official website of UPSC at upsconline.nic.in

Step 2- Scroll down the page and click on the ‘Apply Online’ button on the right-hand side of the page.

Step 3- Now, click on the link that reads ‘Online Application for Various Examinations’.

Step 4- Find the link for online applications of the required recruitment.

Step 5- Complete the application process for UPSC IAS and IFS in two parts.

Step 6- In the first part, provide basic details and then read all necessary instructions for image specification, fee payment, correction, etc.

Step 7- Click on the ‘Submit’ and then follow the next set of procedures.

Step 8- Pay the online application fee, select the examination centre and then upload the required documents.

The application period for the CS(P) Examination 2023 has opened, and the commission has also begun the online registration procedure for the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2023. Although the major test and personality interview stage are done separately, the preliminary exam is administered concurrently with the civil services preliminary exam.
