Eligibility Criteria for CSIR UGC NET

The CSIR UGC NET elgibility criteria differs for JRF and Lectureship. Check if you are eligible to write the CSIR UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2014:

 

For Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET

B.S. (4 years)/B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharma/M.B.B.S./Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks for general and OBC candidates (50% for SC/ST or differently abled/visually handicapped candidates.)

B.Sc. (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in the Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for general and OBC candidates (50% for SC/ST candidates and physically/visually handicapped.)

 

For lectureship:

As per the guidelines set by the UGC, PhD degree holders are eligible to apply for Lectureship if they have passed Master’s degree prior to 19 September, 1991 with at least 50% marks.

Age Criteria

For JRF (NET): You should not be more than 28 years as on 1 January, 2014. This is relaxed upto 5 years in case you belong to SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled/Visually handicapped or are female.

For LS (NET): There is no upper age limit.
