National Board of Accreditation (NBA) - Introduction

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) was formed by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) as an Autonomous body under section 10(u) of the AICTE act 1987.

The National NBA conducts periodical evaluation of the technical institutions and programmes on a periodical basis according to specified norms and standards as recommended by AICTE council to it.

Various diploma, degree and post graduate technical programmes and institute offering such programme comes under the purview of National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The NBA approval of technical institutions is a process of quality assurance. The NBA makes it sure that an institute providing technical education is giving its students the quality of education for that it makes commitment. The NBA approval makes the backbone of the technical institutes in India.

The NBA has also applied for Washington Accord, approval of which it will get in near future. The NBA recognition guarantees the minimum quality of education in technical institutions in the country.

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has the goal to develop a Quality Conscious System of Technical Education which should be at par with the industrial demand.

The NBA has given the full responsibility by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to build a technical education system, as vendors of human resources that will match the national goals of growth by competence, contributions to economy through competitiveness and compatibility to societal development.

The NBA continuously strives to provide the quality benchmarks targeted at global and national stockpile of human capital in all fields of technical education.
