CRPF Career - Central Reserve Police Force

Central Reserve Police Force came into existence as the Crown Representative's Police on the 27th July'1939. It became the Central Reserve Police Force on enactment of the CRPF Act on 28th December' 1949. It has completed 60 years of glorious history. The Force has grown into a big organization with 191 Battalions (173 executive Battalions including 2 Mahila Battalions, 10 RAF Battalions, 5 Signal Battalions and 1 Special Duty Group) 35 Group Centers including a Signal Group Centre, 10 training Institutions, 2 Central Weapon Store, 7Arms Work shop, 1 Static Workshop, 2 Mobile Workshops, 3 Base Hospitals and one 100 bed composite Hospital with a backup of well knit administrative set up covering the entire geography of the country.

In times of peace it is deployed at places where calamities occur due to natural tragedies. The CRPF recruits young individuals for the position of Assistant Sub Inspector.

CRPF Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications-
A minimum of Intermediate/10+2/equivalent is necessary, typing (35-40 words per minute in English; 25-30 words per minute in Hindi; shorthand 80 words per minute)is required for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) in CRPF.
Age Limit-
18-25 yrs
Physical Standards-
A minimum of 170 cms. (5 cms. Relation for Adivasis or Tribals) Chest-81 cms. (A minimum of 5 cms. of expansion; tribals 77-82cms
Women Candidates-
A minimum of 157 cms. of height (154-155 cms. for Adivasis or Tribals)
- Eyesight Near Vision (corrected vision) J.I (better eye); J.II (worse eye)
- Distant vision – better eye (corrected vision) - 6/6 or 6/9. Worse eye 6/12 or 6/9
- Flat feet, Knock knees, squint in eyes and physical defects ruled out

Written Examination of two hours and consists of four sections
Hindi/English language
Numerical Ability
General Intelligence
Clerical Aptitude
Typing and/or shorthand test
Personal interview
Physical Efficiency Test
Physical measurements
All those who attain minimum qualifying marks in the Written Examination have to undergo shorthand/typing test and appear for the personality test or interview.
The Physical Efficiency Test, if conducted (meaning for those candidates who happen to clear the earlier rounds) consists of tests like one mile run in six and a half minutes etc. Candidates in possession of NCC ‘C’ Certificate or certificate of participation in a sports meet of national level are awarded bonus marks.
