The “Karnataka Examinations Authority” (KEA) conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) every year to determine the merit of the Karnataka candidates and the children of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for admissions to the first year or first semester of full time courses in  ayurvedahomoeopathy, unani, naturopathy & yoga, engineering, technology courses (B.E./ B.Tech) and architecture courses (B.Arch), in government or University or private aided or private un-aided professional colleges in Karnataka.

For admission to medical (MBBS) and dental (BDScourses, candidates have to appear for UG-NEET 2022 conducted by CBSE.

Following are the exam dates for the KCET 2022 for the academic year 2022 – 2023.

Timings - 10.30 am – 11.50 am | Subject - Biology | marks - 60
Timings - 2.30 pm – 3.50 pm | Subject - Mathematics | marks - 60

CET Karnataka 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must appear for the Common Entrance Test 2022 in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB subjects) for admission to Medical / Dental / Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy courses.
    The candidates must appear for the Common Entrance Test 2022 in Physics, Chemistry & Maths (PCM subjects) for admission to Engineering / Technology Courses.
    For admission to the architecture course, the candidates must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and have to submit CET-2015 application form duly filled.

B.Arch
Candidates should have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects or passed 10+3 Diploma exam with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Candidates wishing to take admission in B.Arch are required to qualify NATA 2022
B.E/B.Tech
Candidate should have passed 12th standard with minimum 45% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics with Chemistry/BioTechnology/Biology/Electronics and Computer. (40% for Reserved category candidates) English should be a compulsory subject.
Farm Science Courses- B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Forestry, Technology, Community Science, Agriculture Engineering, Food Technology, D.Tech, Fisheries, Agri-Business Management
Candidate should have passed 2nd PUC/ 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as an optional subject
B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Candidate should have passed 2nd PUC and obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English Subjects ( 40% for reserved category candidates)
B.Pharma
Candidate should have passed 2nd PUC with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics subjects Or
Candidate should have passed diploma in Pharmacy exam with minimum 45 % marks
Pharma-D
candidate should have passed 2nd PUC with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subject and English should be one of the languages. The minimum qualifying mark is 50%
Naturopathy and Yoga
Candidate should have passed 2nd PUC with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects (40% for Reserved category candidates)

  • Mode of KCET– Pen-Paper-based examination (Offline Mode)
  • Papers– Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology
  • Duration– 80 minutes for each paper
  • Type of Question- Multiple Choice Questions
  • Number of Questions– 60 questions in each paper
  • Marking Scheme– +1 for each correct answer. No Negative marking
