NEETI:National Entrance Examination for Technical Institutions


A single entrance exam will be conducted by All India Council for Technical Education's (AICTE) from 2018. According to Ministry of Human Resource and Development officials, NEETI (National Entrance Examination for Technical Institutions), the single entrance exam for admission to various engineering programs will be conducted by National Testing Service (NTS). The exam will be conducted in online mode only and will take place 2 times initially followed by at least 2-3 times a year thereafter. NTS will be ready to conduct NEETI for admission to engineering courses from January 2018, with the first NEETI exam likely to be held between December 2017-January 2018, followed by another one in March or May 2018.

The decision was taken after it was seen that more than 60% engineering graduates in India remain unemployed. to improvethe quality of technical education provided in India, MHRD has decided to hold a single entrance test in India for admission to undergraduate engineering programs.

NEET( National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) has already replaced AIPMT (All India Pre medical Test)as regulated by Indian Medical Council Act-1956. NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2017 [NEET(UG)-2017] will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges.
