GCET- Goa Common Entrance Test 2017



The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Goa conducts the Goa CET 2017 or (GCET 2017) which is Goa's Common Entrance Test for candidates who wish to pursue engineering (BE) and medical courses at the Undergraduate Level in Goa.


Medical courses constitute the disciplines of Dentistry (BDS), Homeopathy (BHMS),BAMS, Medicine (MBBS), AHS and B.Sc. Nursing and Pharmacy (B.Pharm). The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) is in the disciplines of Civil, Computer, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecom, Information Technology, Mechanical, and Mining.

For Architecture, a B.Arch degree is awarded at the end of the course to successful students. Admissions to the B.Arch course would be on the basis of your NATA - National Aptitude Test in Architecture scores.

Admission to MBBS, BHMS, BAMS and BDS courses will be on the basis of NEET 2017.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The GCET 2017 will be based upon the syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim for 12th grade, and will cover the four subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

Each paper will comprise of 75 questions, which are to be answered in a period of two hours. Each correct answer will be award one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Multiple answers for questions do not attract negative marking as well.

Application Procedure

Goa CET 2017 Form A is the form you need to appear in the Goa Common Entrance Test 2017, and this can be obtained by post or in person. You can download the Goa CET 2017 Application Form, and submit it along with the application fees of Rs. 1500/-.The Application Fee (Prospectus Fee and Test Fee) can be paid through a Demand Draft in the favour of the Directorate of Technical Education, payable at Panaji.

Once you have qualified in GCET 2017, you will be eligible for Counselling. For this, you need to fill in the GCET 2017 Application Form B for Counselling, between May 15-24, 2017. Counselling will be conducted in two rounds, from June 16, 2017 to July 20, 2017. Additional round of admission will take place until 10 August, 2017.You will be allotted seats after counselling and verification of your documents.
