Admissions Procedure at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT Delhi)

The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Dellhi (IIITD) offers 4 year degree programme i.e. B.Tech. in Information Technology, M.Tech asd Ph D courses. The details of the courses are given below:

IIIT Delhi - B.Tech

Minimum Qualification (For Delhi Region Candidates)
A candidate passing any one of the following examination from recognized School/College/Institute located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi only and securing 60 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics shall be eligible for admission provided he/she passed in each subject separately:

(i) Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary
Educational (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.

(ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School
Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

(iii) Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate
Examination of the C.B.S.E.

(For Outside Delhi Region Candidates)
A candidate passing anyone of the following examinations from the recognized School/College/Institute located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi only and securing 60 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics shall be eligible for admission provided he/she has passed in each subject separately:

(i) Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary
Educational (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.

(ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School
Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

(iii) Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination
of the C.B.S.E.

IIIT Delhi B.Tech Admission

Candidates who satisfy the minimum requirements for qualifications, can apply online (this is the only way to apply). They will have to print out their form and send it with a draft for Rs 500 payable to “IIIT Delhi�? as examination fee to at the following address (through speed post only)

They must keep a copy of this form, which will be needed for appearing in the exam. The candidates will have to undergo a screening test for admission to B.Tech courses in IIIT Delhi. The candidate should bring a copy of the form he/she had sent earlier, along with a valid photo ID for appearing in the screening test (NSIT-DCE Test/AIEE admit cards can also serve as valid ID).

The candidates, who are selected through the test for admission in IIIT Delhi, will have to show, at the time of admission, documents about the rank in NSIT-DCE Test/AIEE, marks in class XII, and proof of residency. Anyone found not satisfying the requirements or found having misrepresented the facts will be liable for cancellation of his/her candidature.

IIIT Delhi - M.Tech (Computer Science)

Eligibility: The minimum eligibility criterion for this program is B.Tech./B.E. in CS/IT/ECE/EE with at least 7.5 CGPA (out of 10) or 75% or equivalent. Apply online: M.Tech. application form (Only way to apply)

Based on the facts furnished in the application, a screening will be performed and selected candidates will be asked to appear for a competitive entrance process that includes written and programming tests and interview. Written test may be objective or short subjective. Questions will be from Data Structures, Algorithms, Discrete Maths, Theory of Computation, and Probability Theory. In the programming test, candidates will be asked to write and execute a program in one of three languages (C, C++, JAVA). Based on the performance in written and programming tests, selected candidates will be interviewed.

IIIT Delhi PhD

Eligibility: A person who has good academic record throughout and graduated within the last two years with a BTech/BE/MTech/MS/ME in CS/IT/ECE/EE with a good academic record (at least a CGPA of 7.5 or equivalent in IITs/NITs, or in the top 10% in his/her CS/IT/ECE/EE batch from other institutions). Requirements may be relaxed for candidates with publications/ R&D/software development experience in their area of interest.
