IIITM Gwalior Hostels

IIITM is a fully residential institute and enrollment in the institute requires that all students stay in the campus throughout their tenure. For this purpose, hostel accommodation has been made available to all. The hostels are provide facilities like reading rooms, a lounge and a dining hall with messing arrangements. It also provides the inmates with facilities of indoor games like table tennis and badminton. Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls. All hostels provide single occupancy rooms furnished with the basic necessities.

There are 3 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel with a capacity of more than 1000.

IIITM Gwalior Campus Life

The IIITM offers residence facilities to faculty members, students and other staff members.The campus of IIITM offers growth and development in all spheres of life including academics.The campus also keeps in mind the regular needs of the students and other members and hence offers sports, recreational and shopping facilities. The institute library offers a good collection of books.It’s also a junction for faculty members and students where they can interact apart from classes.

The campus of IIITM is quite happening. A large number of festivals and events are organized every year. A short description of the campus fests is mentioned here-

  • Aurora – Its’ annual cultural festival of IIITM held during the early spring session.

  • Parichaya – It’s hosted by the senior students as welcome ceremony for new comers.

  • Infotsav – The annual tech fest of the institute in which institute like NITIE and IITs take part.

  • Abhigyan – This is the National level paper presentation contest held by the IETE students’ Forum at IIITM Gwalior.

Gwalior - The City

Gwalior, a Rajputana state before India gained independence in 1947 from British is currently district of Madhya Pradesh surrounded with historical places like, Jhansi, Agra, Datia, Orcha, Khajuraho its frequently visited by tourists.These places lie approximately in a radius of150 Kms.

Gwalior receives good rainfall during monsoon.The summers are quite hot in Gwalior and sometimes,the mercury above 40 degree Celsius is nothing unusual during the summers.Winters are cold and night temperature sometimes drops to as low as 4 degree Celsius or less.
