IIM Lucknow Admission Criteria 2017 - 2019

Featuring among India’s renowned MBA colleges, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow offers two flagship courses: the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) and the Post Graduate Program in Agribusiness Management (PGP AM). The detailed admission process to both these management programs are given.

Eligibility

The two year post graduate program in management is a full time residential course for graduates who wish to pursue a career in the line of management, and to be eligible, the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Science or Agricultural Engineering, or similar subjects like Agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Extension, Animal Husbandry, Diary Technology, or Veterinary Science, to name a few, and should have at least 50% marks or the equivalent CGPA. This is relaxed to 45% in the case of candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) or the Differently Abled (DA, also called Persons with Disability (PWD)).

The candidate can also hold a degree in Engineering or Technology for four years duration after twelfth grade, BSc or Diploma course completion.

Candidates who are appearing for the final year examination can also apply, and so can those who are awaiting their results. Provisional certificates will need to be submitted.

The selection process is of two stages, and various factors are considered, so fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria alone will not ensure consideration for shortlisting into the IIM.

Selection Process

Stage 1

IIM Lucknow will normalize your academic scores. The minimum cut-off for the Post Graduate Program (PGP) and Post Graduate Program in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM) courses has been set at 90 percentile and 85 percentile respectively. IIM Lucknow will consider the overall cut-off, as well as sectional cut-off.

The overall cutoff for management programs at Indian Institute of Management Lucknow stands at 90 for General Category candidates; sectional cutoff is 85. This CAT 2016 cutoff is for admission into programs for the academic year 2017-2019.

The attained mark will be amended to take values between 0 and 3. M is the mean, and SD is the standard deviation of each academic discipline.

Calculation - If you have over six months of work experience, it will be calculated as WE=(x)*(0.1), where x is the number of months worked as on August 31st, 2016.
Only paid and full-time work experience after obtaining the degree will be considered. Apprenticeship, articleship and internships will not be considered.

The minimum score you need in the Personal Interview stage to guarantee a seat in IIM Lucknow is 9.

The final selection into the institution is based on the total score you attain in both stages of selection.

Any disputes which may arise regarding admission to IIM Lucknow’s batch of 2017-2019 is solely subject to courts within the territorial jurisdiction of Lucknow.

For overseas candidates of Indian origin

Overseas candidates of Indian origin are eligible to apply if they have been residing outside India, for a period of at least one and a half year (i.e. 1 September, 2015 – 28 February, 2017). They should have appeared for GMAT outside India and have a GMAT score of above 85 percentile rank.

Such candidates must preferably have at least 2 years of work experience in a reputed organization, as on 31st December 2016.

For foreign nationals

Application forms of foreign applicants should be sent through the Ministry of External Affairs, with an advance copy sent directly to Chairperson, Admissions. Your GMAT score should be above 85 percentile rank.

A TOEFL score will be required from the candidates whose medium of study has not been English. At least 2 years of experience in Academics/Industry as on 31st December 2016 would be preferred.
