JEE 2013 Main Paper
The Human Resource Development Ministry's plan to conduct a nation-wide, common engineering entrance examination from 2013 will soon be implemented. The single entrance was decided to be called the " Indian Science-Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET) 2013." However, ISEET has been renamed to "JEE - Joint Entrance Examination".
The JEE 2013 will replace the engineering entrance exams such as AIEEE and IIT-JEE from 2013 onwards. It is said that the test JEE will be conducted by CBSE twice in a year, once in March to April, 2013, and again in November to December, 2013. The JEE 2013 will be bifurcated into two parts: JEE - Main Paper & JEE - Advance Paper.
JEE 2013 Main paper is an Objective Aptitude Test like those conducted for CAT, SAT or partly BITSAT. The paper is meant to test student for English Comprehension, Critical Thinking & Logical Reasoning. It is meant to test the basic intelligence of the students.
The JEE Main paper will constitute of the following aspects:
- Duration of JEE Main paper - 3 hours
- Test Pattern of JEE Main - Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension & Critical Thinking
- Weightage attributed to JEE Main - 30% minimum.
- Class XII board performance will have a weightage of not less than 40 percent and it can go upto 100 percent. The combined weightage of JEE Main and Advance will not be more than 60 percent.
