Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a typically two-year program with the aim of making students proficient in different areas of management. At the end of those two years, the student should be an expert in one area of management. In the first year of studies, there is a general overview and a brief introduction to all the areas of management. In the second year of graduation, the students are expected to sign up for a specialization in one of the various options available to them.
Choosing a specialization is not an easy task. A student needs to consider all the options available, the pros and cons they pose, future of that field, their own interests, etc. before selecting a specialization. Of course, there is an option to go for general management program or a specialization and that completely depends on the student.
