The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata, established in 1997, is NAAC-accredited and ISO 9001:2008 certified. The institute has secured ranking as an A++ category B-School in the country. Here, superior management education is offered to not only the wards of the army personnel, but also students from the general category. The eco-friendly campus provides a brilliantly-equipped library, computer labs, lecture halls, common room, student's mess, separate hostels for men and women, medical facilities, gym, facilities for sports, cafeteria etc.


The 2-year fully-residential MBA program with dual specialization is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and affiliated with WBUT (West Bengal University of Technology). Specialization options include Marketing, Finance, Systems and Human Resource Management. It comprises of learning through lectures, case studies, individual or group tasks for simulation of business operations and 4 weeks of summer internship.

Admission & Fees

Out of 120 seats, 80% of the seats are for Army wards and 20% for the general category. Detailed eligibility criteria for children of serving army personnel, ex-Army personnel and war widows, are provided on the AIM Kolkata website.

You must secure a minimum of 50% in your graduation, from a recognized university in order to apply for this MBA. And then, based on your score in CAT 2015, you may receive call from the institute for a group discussion and interview. The final merit list will be prepared after that. New session commences from mid-July every year.

The total course fee for Army category students is around Rs.4.98 lakhs and for general category it is Rs.6.73 lakhs approximately.
