Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT)

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) teaches students how to use medical, technological equipment in a laboratory setting in order to treat, diagnose and prevent diseases with the aid of clinical laboratory testing. Students may learn how to do tasks such as analyze blood-work, do blood typing, study human tissue and examine chemicals.

 

Learning these skills and their application in the real world can provide you with the ability to find employment in labs within hospitals, research facilities and private institutions. Lab technicians are needed on a regular basis.

Eligibility Criteria: BMLT

  • The length of the BMLT programme is about three to four years.
  • The cost of the program varies by institute. For example, the programme fee at S.S. Institute of Medical Sciences Management Technology & Research in Agra, is Rs. 61,800. The programme fee at Paramedical College in Durgapur, is one payment of Rs. 1,00,000.

  • The requirements for admission are passing the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or 10+2 exam in the science stream.

  • A minimum of 50 percent marks in each course is required. Alternatively, you can complete a recognised vocational course with laboratory technology as a subject.
